KATARINA MARAVICH
“Every day is a new challenge for me. That’s where the job’s appeal lies, in my opinion. Talent is knowing what’s POSSIBLE with a certain hair type, and education is what gets
us there. I truly love what I do and look forward to each day at the salon and interacting with my clients.”
Belgrade native (born 1985) who attended and graduated from the Beauty Care School in 2003. She went straight from high school to her first job as a stylist. It was in 2010 that she made the conscious decision to focus solely on hair colouring, at which point she began taking classes, seminars, and lectures on the subject. In the beginning of her career,
she worked with Revlon products. She has spent some time and received training abroad, and now she is the first in our country to begin working with Olaplex, partnered with the general supplier and distributor VSD Trade. Today, besides Revlon and Olaplexwe work with MoroccanOil products as well as Nano technology.
“I’m so happy that I was finally able to open a salon in our country that focuses exclusively on hair colouring, an idea I’ve been working on for a long time. There are salons all over the world staffed entirely by COLOURISTS who devote their lives to mastering their craft.
In my opinion, if you focus on developing just one aspect of your work, you’ll do a fantastic job of it, whereas if you spread your attention too thin, you’ll merely scratch the surface of each, and coloring requires diligence and dedication and love for your job.”
Katarina went to Russia at the request of the Matrix Hair Care brand to represent Serbia at a major seminar for colorists from all around the world. Twenty-six colorists from all around the world,
including big names like Philip Wolff and Alfred Lewis, attended the seminar and learned new methods and shared their own.
Meanwhile, Katarina has added teaching to her list of life’s interests. Through her one-on-one education, many colorists were able to grow in their craft. It is an incredible honor to serve as a mentor and instructor to so many promising young people in the world of color, and Katarina has provided that opportunity to countless young hairstylists.
Katarina has an unwavering commitment to excellence. The 1 on 1 hairdresser-client concept is new in Serbia; the idea is that the stylist should focus solely on a single customer to ensure that they receive individualized attention and the best possible service.
Katarina Maravich is a seasoned professional and a hair coloring guru. Katarina admits that she might come across as a stern team member to clients, but that this is sometimes necessary to protect the hair’s quality and get the desired result after coloring. Katarina is all about content clients and above all, beautiful, healthy hair.
“We have customers who are disappointed to learn that their damaged or poor-quality hair prevents us from fulfilling their requests. Since our ultimate goal is for our clients to leave the salon with beautiful, well-groomed hair, we must be completely forthright when advising against proceeding with a color that the hair’s current health and condition cannot sustain.
“The hair that is strong and healthy and has a strong tolerance to chemicals is easy to tone and colour. When you get a client with a 95% chemical damage, you need to handle the situation with tact. In the absence of extensive background knowledge and expertise, you don’t have many other options.”
Because of this, Katarina Maravich’s salon stood out among the competition. The salon’s success is due in large part to the staff’s unwavering commitment to the happiness and satisfaction of each and every customer who walks through its doors, as well as to the individual talents and hard work of each member of that staff.
