Is it better to dye your hair before or after summer holiday?
Every summer, a recurring summertime conundrum for ladies is whether or not to dye their hair before or after a vacation. I hope that by offering some advice, I might help alleviate some of the bittersweetness of this choice.
If you need to drastically change the colour of your hair, either by adding colour or removing it, you should probably put off the process until after your summer vacation is over.
Colour can fade faster in the sun and due to salt, than it would otherwise. Both dark-haired and blonde girls often come back from the seaside with a lighter hair shade.
Therefore, after the second or third day at the beach, the salt and the sun can alter (wash out) the colour that you have just done.
The balayage technique reduces the “ramifications” to a minimum. In the worst case, the toner will wash out more quickly, but as you get out of the water, you can apply it again and your hair will be the same as before.
A combination of an Olaplex treatment and hair hydration is ideal for restoring moisture and shine to your hair after a vacation.
That’s why I want to remind you lovely ladies to keep your hair in good condition while you’re away… When you get out of the water, use plain water to wash the salt out of your hair, and then use a UVA/UVB-protective product. If you can, wear a hat or turban on a regular basis… Trust me, your hair will thankful.
